In 2023, Epibiotech, Novarex, and Yonsei University published a joint study investigating the effects of the Proso millet and common wheat extract complex (MWC) on hair health. The study utilized human immortalized dermal papilla cells (hDPC) and anagen-synchronized mice to evaluate MWC’s antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and hair growth-promoting effects.

Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory Effects: MWC exhibited antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties by increasing the expression of antioxidant enzymes (catalase and SOD1) and decreasing the expression of inflammatory factors (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α).
