We often turn to food for recovery when we're feeling sick or tired. Could the same apply to hair loss?

Ancestral Wisdom

Among the many traditional Korean holidays, the 15th day of the first lunar month, also known as Jeongwol Daeboreum, holds a special significance. It serves as a testament to the scientific wisdom of our ancestors. In the past, during the harsh winter months, fresh food was scarce, leading to nutritional deficiencies. Because of this, around the end of January to mid-February, during Jeongwol Daeboreum, people would eat multigrain rice, jujubes, chestnuts, various vegetables, and nuts.

Remarkably, these seemingly simple ingredients were not just delicious but also packed with nutrients essential for overall health and hair vitality. These foods not only replenish depleted vitamin C and B groups but also provide essential unsaturated fatty acids crucial for healthy skin and hair.

multigrain rice goes beyond providing carbohydrates. It is a rich source of a wide range of vitamins and minerals along with abundant plant-based polyphenols, including anthocyanins. This ensures that the body receives a comprehensive nutritional boost.

Nuts, often referred to as “bureom” in Korean, are another vital component. Packed with plant-based essential unsaturated fatty acids, they play an indispensable role in maintaining healthy skin and hair.

Is it only about the food we eat? What about the beverages we drink?

What are the most beloved beverages worldwide? While the options are diverse, considering the sheer number of cafes globally, it seems like coffee might be the most beloved beverage.

Due to the Korean fondness for coffee, green tea consumption isn’t as high. However, there’s no beverage as beneficial to our health as green tea. Green tea boasts high antioxidant properties and offers various benefits to our bodies. Its catechins provide excellent functionalities such as anticancer, antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antithrombotic effects.

How about reducing our coffee intake and trying green tea instead?
